Internet Search Engines

Google - Google was started by two college students. They have built themselves into the leading internet search provider, by focusing on quality results. Year after year they have improved their search engine, and continually had the most accurate results. Google displays the best results without sponsor listings mixed in, they display related ads separated on the side.

Bing - Was first started as MSN Search in 1998. In the early days Microsoft rented it`s results from another search engine. They bounced around three providers, until producing their own results. Later became Live Search, then renamed Bing on 06/03/09.

Ask - Original search strategy was to allow internet users to get answers to questions posed in a natural language form. Also supports traditional keyword searching, math, dictionary and conversion questions. Was first started as Ask Jeeves in 1996. Ask is owned by InterActiveCorp.
